A Question for You

I feel I must be jaded. Very much like other people in other industries are I’m sure.

What I mean is my education in Las Vegas heating and air conditioning repair service, maintenance, and replacement skews my vision.

So here is my question point blank. If you never heard of Global Warming & Cooling and you needed to purchase an air conditioning or heating system, what steps would you take? What would be your plan on purchasing a new comfort system?

I have too much of an insiders perspective to be realistic. I also have a product that is purchased very infrequently and is a large purchase.

So let’s suppose you bought a house in Henderson 2 years ago and no longer have a home warranty. Let’s also say you have an air conditioning unit that’s on the side of the house and even though you are no expert, you know the unit you’re looking at is old and junky looking. We’ll also say it cools and heats but not as well as you would like and your utility bills seem unreasonably high. Lastly, every time the the air conditioner or the heater starts up, that part of the unit sounds like a scream from Hell. Just wanted to throw that in there.

My question is predicated on the fact you realize the heating and air conditioning might be on it’s last legs.

What would be your next move?

  1. I would call Heating Repair Services in Las Vegas and Henderson.

  2. If I didn’t know about you guys, I’d do an internet search to find local companies. I’d research them as best I could on their own websites as well as review sites. I’d then call and talk to each, asking for input and estimates. I’d likely make my decision based on the knowledge and qualifications of the company as well as their understanding of my specific needs. I would not necessarily go with the cheapest price first. In fact, I could almost guarantee I wouldn’t. Unless, that is, the most qualified and seemingly trustworthy vendor also came in with the lowest price. :)

  3. If I lived in Henderson, of course I would call GWAC!
I’d want to do some research first – I like to understand what I’m getting for my money, esp. a large purchase. I don’t have brand loyalty to an air con (difficult as I’ve only started to use one recently) so I’d be looking at ecofriendliness, performance, reliability and price, in that order.

I would probably first do a google search for heating and air conditioning companies in Henderson and Las Vegas. Then I would go to the websites and do a bit of research on the company. Finally, I would ask at least 3 companies to give me an estimate.

After analyzing all of the data from above, I would call Global Warming and Cooling for my new unit!

  7. Hi Kevin,

If I were a Las Vegas or Henderson area homeowner, I’d probably start with doing some basic topical research online as well as talk to a few friends in the real estate industry to see what they have seen is good quality and what lasts well with a good track record, like a marriage does.

  8. I’m with most of the others here – a bit of online research and some quick phone calls. The phone calls are important to me, because it gives me a chance to interact with a real person who actually represents the company, and I will often use that interaction as a major deciding factor. Even if you are super inexpensive yet high quality, a poor experience with your front line representatives would have me taking my business elsewhere.

  9. Assuming I didn’t know you already, I’d google las vegas air conditioning repair or las vegas heating repair and do some research on the companies I found there. Then I’d try to get 1-3 of them to come out and take a look and tell me what my options are. How long would they expect it to last if I put a couple hundred bucks into it versus how much to completely replace it. Depending on the cost of the replacement, would ask them about financing of a new one if it was going to be several thousand.

But since I now know you, I’d just call you.

  11. Champion AC says:

I’d go ask my neighbors if they knew of anyone good, then I’d start looking online to see what my options were. Then get a couple of quotes and then make a decision.

  12. I would probably look into buying a new unit especially if the current one is “old and junkie” looking. I hate sinking money into old things (especially cars). The repair price would have to be awfully low and the replacement cost awfully high for me to consider a repair.
